Accepting gifts or other things of value for your personal benefit can give rise to a perception that your professional judgment, objectivity, or independence is compromised.
To keep something of value that you are offered over US$250, obtain prior approval using the Ethics and Compliance Register.

It is important you do not accept:
• Product or service discounts that are not available to all employees;
• Gifts, favours or any form of hospitality or entertainment in return for business services or advantage;
• Gifts or entertainment of an inappropriate value or nature or at inappropriate venues;
• Gifts, hospitality, entertainment or other favours or benefits from anyone you are evaluating in a bid or tender with BHP.

Reject offers of travel and accommodation from external parties. If there is a valid business purpose to attend an event or function, BHP will pay for travel and/or accommodation costs.
